
The highly anticipated film ‘Gadar 2’ has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), but not without 10 cuts. Controversial scenes and dialogues have been modified.
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will both return with the sequel of ‘Gadar 2’ this month. The film has been awarded U/A certificate by The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after undergoing 10 major cuts.
Another scene where, during a riot, people are chanting ‘Har Har Mahadev’ has been removed, along with ‘Shiv Tandav’ sholkas being replaced by the song line ‘Akhand haiâ€æ woh sang hai’. The word 'Bastard' has been replaced with ‘Idiot’. Furthermore, the designation of the Defence Minister has been rectified to ‘Raksha Mantri’ in compliance with the CBFC's orders. The word ‘Tirange’ has been changed to ‘Jhande’ and the ‘Har Jhande Koâ€æ’ dialogue has been suitably modified.
That’s not it, the line in the thumri song ‘Bata De Sakhi’ has been replaced by ‘Bata De Piya Kahaan Bitaayi Shaam’. A dialogue that read ‘Dono ek hi toh hai. Baba Nanak ne bhi yahin kaha hai’ has been replaced with ‘Ek noor te sab jag upaje. Baba Nanak ne bhi yehi kaha hai’, including references to the holy Quran and Bhagavad Gita.
After implementing these changes, ‘Gadar 2’ received a U/A certificate from the CBFC. The certificate states that the film has a duration of 170 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours and 50 minutes.Starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, ‘Gadar 2’ is scheduled to release on August 11.
